Tell Publix To "Do the Right Thing!"

Fair Food Jacksonville is working with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and the Student Farmworkers Alliance (SFA) in mobilizing Northeast Florida for a massive demonstration in Tampa, FL on March 5th & 6th, 2011.

The action will give activists a chance to join farm workers from Immokalee, their families and allies from across Florida and beyond for a vibrant and peaceful rally, pageant and celebration to cap off an unforgettable day of actions!

CIW is has been successful in the past working with purchasers of tomatoes and is now attempting to work with grocery retailers such as Publix, Kroger's and Trader Joe's. Publix, the largest privately owned company in Florida, has largely ignored the atrocities committed in the tomato fields of Florida, but now is our chance to tell them "Do the Right Thing!"

Transportation and accommodations will be provided for anyone interested in attending the demonstration. However, we do ask anyone coming to contribute to gas money, but anyone is welcome to come, gas money or not!

If you are interested in attending the demonstration or would like more information please contact James Taylor at tayj0016@gmail.com.
